Booking, Referrals & New Patients

  • No. You do not need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment at Vigour Physiotherapy. Physiotherapists in Saskatchewan are primary-contact providers, so you can book directly.

Some insurance plans may require a physician’s referral for reimbursement, so it’s always a good idea to check the details of your plan

  • Yes. I’m currently accepting new patients for both in-person and virtual physiotherapy.

If you’re unsure which type of appointment is the best fit, feel free to send a quick email before booking.

  • All appointments are booked online through my secure booking system.

Click the “Book Online” button in the top menu, choose your appointment type, and select a time that works for you.

If you run into any issues with online booking, you can email me or text me and I’ll help you out

  • No. Visits are by appointment only so I can reserve enough time for a thorough assessment and treatment without rushing.on

Insurance, Direct Billing, & Payment

  • Most likely, yes. I can direct bill to many major insurance companies, including Saskatchewan Blue Cross, Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Medavie Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada, SGI, WCB, and several others.

If your plan allows direct billing, I will submit claims on your behalf whenever possible.

Any portion not covered by your plan is your responsibility and can be paid at the time of your visit

  • No problem. You can still attend physiotherapy here. The list is not exhaustive and there are many other small insurance companies I can direct bill.

If I cannot direct bill your insurance, you’ll pay for your appointment at the time of your visit, and I’ll provide a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement (if your plan allows it).

  • I accept major credit cards and debit. Cash is also accepted although I do not keep change on premises so please bring exact cash if that is your preferred method of payment.

Payment is due at the end of each session unless your visit is fully covered by an approved third-party payer (for example, WCB or an approved SGI claim).

  • You’re still very welcome here.

Many clients choose to pay out of pocket. We’ll discuss your goals and build a plan that respects both your health needs and your budget

Your Appointment: What to Expect

  • Your first visit starts with a thorough conversation about your pain, injury, or mobility goals.

From there, I’ll perform a movement and physical assessment to understand what’s going on and what might be driving your symptoms.

We’ll discuss the findings in plain language, and you’ll leave with a clear plan that usually includes a mix of education, targeted exercises, and hands-on treatment when appropriate.

  • Initial assessments are typically 50-60 minutes.

Follow-up sessions are usually 30–60 minutes, depending on your needs and the type of visit.

If your situation is more complex or we’re working on multiple areas, we may suggest longer follow-ups.

  • Wear something you’re comfortable moving around in—similar to what you’d wear to the gym.

It can be helpful to wear clothing that makes it easy to see or access the area we’re assessing (for example, shorts for knees or hips, a tank top or looser top for shoulders and neck)

  • Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee, as that time is reserved specifically for you.

Treatment Approach & Services

  • I treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and movement-related conditions, including:

    Back, neck, and shoulder pain
    • Hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain
    • Sports and CrossFit-related injuries
    • Tendon issues (like Achilles or rotator cuff tendinopathy)
    • Post-surgical rehabilitation
    • Mobility and flexibility limitations
    • Persistent or recurrent pain that hasn’t improved with rest alone

If your issue is outside my scope, I’ll help point you in the right direction.

  • Treatment is always tailored to you and may include:

    • Education about your condition
    • Individualized exercise and mobility programming
    • Strength and control training (especially in end ranges)
    • Functional Range Conditioning–style mobility work
    • Hands-on treatment when appropriate (joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, etc.)
Dry needling / intramuscular stimulation (IMS), if clinically appropriate and only with your consent

  • Item descriptionDry needling (also called intramuscular stimulation or IMS) uses a very thin, sterile needle inserted into specific muscles to help reduce pain and improve movement.

No medication is injected—the needle itself is the treatment. You may feel a brief cramp or “twitch” and then a sense of release. Some people feel mild soreness afterward, similar to a workout.

Dry needling is always optional and only done with your informed consent.

  • Item descriptionMost effective physiotherapy combines in-clinic treatment with targeted home exercises.

These don’t have to take a huge amount of time, but consistency is key. I’ll keep your home program realistic so it actually fits your life.

  • It depends on a few factors, including:

    • How long you’ve had the issue
    • The type and severity of your condition
    • Your goals (for example, daily comfort vs. returning to heavy lifting)
    • How consistently you can work on your home exercises

We’ll discuss an estimated plan after your assessment and adjust it based on your progress.

Virtual Physiotherapy

  • Yes. I offer virtual physiotherapy (video) appointments for people located in Saskatchewan.

Virtual sessions work well for assessment, education, movement coaching, and exercise progressions.

  • A virtual session includes:

    • A detailed conversation about your symptoms and goals
    • Guided movement and self-assessment so I can see how you’re moving
    • Education about what’s likely driving your pain or limitations
    • A tailored exercise plan with live coaching and feedback

You’ll need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a bit of space to move.

  • Many insurance companies cover virtual physiotherapy similarly to in-person visits, but policies vary.

The easiest way to know is to contact your insurance provider and ask whether physiotherapy by secure video (telehealth) is covered under your plan.

Mobility & Group Classes

  • These small-group classes focus on improving joint mobility, flexibility, and strength—especially at your end ranges.

They’re ideal if you feel “tight” all the time, want to move better for your sport or training, or want to reduce your risk of injury.

  • No. Classes are scaled to different levels and you’ll be encouraged to work at a pace that’s appropriate for you.

The goal is gradual progress, not perfection.

Safety, Scope, & Other Common Questions

  • Yes. I am a licensed physiotherapist in Saskatchewan and follow the standards and regulations of my professional college and association.

  • In most cases, yes. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your age, health status, and comfort level.

I’ll ask about your medical history and any precautions we should consider. If anything requires further medical clearance, I’ll let you know.

  • It’s not unusual to feel some short-term soreness or fatigue after starting new exercises or changing how you move.

However, if you experience a significant or unexpected increase in pain, please contact me so we can adjust your plan and make sure everything is safe.

  • If I feel physiotherapy isn’t the best option for you, I’ll be honest about it and, when possible, recommend next steps or other providers who may be more suitable.
