Nick Allard, MPT - Saskatoon Physiotherapist
Hi, I’m Nick — a Saskatoon physiotherapist and the owner of Vigour Physiotherapy. I’ve been practising physiotherapy in Saskatoon since 2017, and in April 2024 I opened my own practice so I could spend more time doing what I love most: helping people move better, feel stronger, and get back to the things they care about.
If you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, or a nagging injury that just won’t settle down, my goal is to give you a clear plan and the support to follow it.
Education & Training
I completed both of my degrees at the University of Saskatchewan:
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (with great distinction), 2015
Master of Physical Therapy (MPT), 2017
Since then, I’ve invested heavily in continuing education and movement training, including:
Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist (FRCms)
Functional Range Strength Coach (FRSC)
Functional Range Assessment Specialist (FRAs)
Kinstretch Level 1 Instructor
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer (CF-L2)
Functional Dry Needling Level 1 and Level 2
This blend of rehab, strength and conditioning, and mobility work shapes how I assess and treat every client.
How I Treat
My approach is simple: one-on-one treatment that’s active, evidence-based, and tailored to you.
In a typical session, we might use:
A thorough assessment to figure out what’s actually driving your pain or limitation
Targeted exercises to build strength, control, and mobility
Hands-on treatment and joint or soft-tissue techniques where appropriate
Dry needling/IMS to help calm irritated or overactive tissues - learn more about Dry Needling here
Education so you understand what’s going on and what you can do between sessions
I work with everything from acute injuries and post-surgical rehab to long-standing pain, mobility limitations, and performance goals.
I offer both in-person and virtual physiotherapy appointments for residents across Saskatchewan.
Who I Work With
I see a wide range of people at Vigour Physiotherapy, including:
People with shoulder, back, neck, hip, or knee pain
Individuals recovering from surgery or a recent injury
Active adults, runners, lifters, and CrossFit athletes
People who feel stiff, tight, or limited and want to improve their mobility
Anyone who wants a clear, practical plan to move and feel better
Whether your goal is to get through the workday without pain, keep up with your kids, or hit a new PR in the gym, we’ll build a plan around what matters to you.
Beyond the Treatment Room
Outside the clinic, I enjoy teaching group mobility classes and CrossFit classes at gyms around Saskatoon. Coaching people through movement — whether in a one-on-one setting or a group class — is one of my favourite parts of the job.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me:
Running or lifting
Taking group fitness classes
Gardening in the summer
Travelling and exploring new places when I get the chance
